Mary Ellen (Slunaker) Kaericher, age 84, of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Mary Ellen was born January 31, 1941 a daughter of Edgar R. and Jennie I. (Higgins) Slunaker. She married Gene Donald Kaericher.

Beloved mother of Gene A. (Marianne) Kaericher, Gerald L. Kaericher and Vicky (Robert) Pigman. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 8 great-grandchildren. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Gene D. Kaericher, her daughter Debra Rae Kaericher, her granddaughter Bobbie Batts-Kaericher and her 4 brothers, Roy O. Slunaker, Ray Slunaker, Harold W. Slunaker and William E. "Bill" Slunaker and 1 sister, Mildred A. Slunaker Goldman. Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Funeral Services and Interment to be held privately. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, Steger, Illinois Burial in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
