Barb was born on January 12, 1956, in Olney, Illinois. Raised in the Catholic faith, she attended Catholic school through her early education before graduating from high school and continuing on to college, where she became a certified dental assistant. In 1975, she moved to Lakeland, Florida, to begin her career and join her fiancé, James Michael Hunley. The two were married in 1976 and later settled in Vero Beach, Florida, in 1979, where they built their life together. Barb devoted forty years to Beta Sigma Phi, a service‑focused sorority whose mission of charity and sisterhood reflected her generous spirit. She also loved photography and had a special fondness for collecting puzzle boxes. She is survived by her two children: Adam and his wife Michelle, along with their daughter Aly; and Eric and his wife Katie, with their daughters Aubrey and Isla. She is also survived by her four siblings: Shirley, Judy, Ronald, and Michael. Barb will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to helping others, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice House.
