Robert C. "Sam" Butler, 65, of Olney, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Sam was born July 18, 1961 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Robert and Marguerite (Rolli) Butler. He married Diane Parker on September 19, 1981, and she survives.

Sam was owner of Butler Cabinet Company in Noble, Illinois and Co-Owner of Advantage Home Health. He later went to work at IDOC and was a member of BPO Elks #926 Olney and the Olney VFW.

Sam is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane (Parker) Butler of Olney; son, Gunnar Butler of Olney; sister, Cassie Denison of Jacksonville, IL; brother-in-law, Robert Parker of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Carol (Brett) Runyon of Johnston City, IL; brother-in-law, Brad (Carrie) Parker of Mt. Carmel, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Jean, and his brother, Jimmy.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Sam from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at the Olney VFW.
