Stephen Joseph “Steve”/Tex” Tucker
November 7, 1947-February 12, 2025
Stephen Joseph Tucker, lovingly known as “Steve” to some and “Tex” to many, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on November 7, 1947, Steve was known as a larger-than-life presence-strong, determined and full of grit. To those who only saw him from the outside, he was the rough and tough cowboy, a tower of a man with an unstoppable drive. But to those fortunate enough to truly know him, Steve was also a gentle giant with a giving heart. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, who loved deeply, helped endlessly, and found joy in animals, family and laughter.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Becky Tucker; his children, Shane Tucker, Kathy Maxey and Stephanie Geyer; his stepchildren, Brandon Hardy and Charlee Hardy; and his cherished grandchildren, Brennan, Brittany, Macy, Samantha, Emma, Jaxon, Layklin and Damian. He is also survived by his mother, Judith Schaich of Olney, Illinois; his twin brothers, Ben and Bill Tucker; his sister, Deb Evans; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Tucker and his brother, Curt Tucker.
Steve lived a life full of love, laughter and strength. He leaves behind countless stories, lessons and memories that will be carried on by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date, where friends and family are invited to share their favorite stories and honor his memory.
Shared by Steve's wife, Becky
