Martha “Marti” L. (Brian) Humes, age 43, of Charleston, IL passed away August 7, 2025, at Willow Breeze Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 AM until noon, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Parkside Event Center, 367 North Illinois 130, Olney, IL 62450. An additional local service will be held at a later date. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938, is in charge of services.

Marti was born on September 21, 1981, in Lawrenceville, IL to Larry P. Brian and Alice F. Parrott. She married Robert W. Humes on September 13, 2019, in Charleston, IL; he survives. Other survivors include her mother, Alice Moudy and husband Dee of Allendale, IL; father, Larry Brian and wife Karla of Olney, IL; and brother, Tommy Becker and husband Evan of Mattoon, IL.

Marti was a devoted and hard-working employee at Mattoon Precision. She enjoyed learning about Native American history, loving her canine companions, and being out in nature. She spent time on the trails, whether she was hiking, riding her four-wheeler, or driving the jeep. She was the first girl to be born within the family in over sixty years but always was a tomboy at heart.

Marti will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
