Grace Stone Rites Held Thursday

The funeral services for Miss Grace G. Stone, 48 of 303 Eighteenth Street, Lawrenceville, Illinois was held Thursday afternoon with the Reverend Walter A. Smith officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceville Cemetery.

Miss Stone died at Memorial Hospital early Tuesday morning of last week, February 10, 1959, following three weeks of serious illness.

Born in Edwards County on December 30, 1910, she was the daughter of Allen F. Stone and Emma Childers Stone. She came to Lawrence County from Richland County in 1933. She taught in the Lawrence and Richland Counties elementary schools for several years.

In 1947 she took employment with the Illinois Public Aid Commission, working in the Lawrence County Department of Public Aid until her illness.

Miss Stone was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Business and Professional Women’s Club.

She is survived by four sisters, Miss Flossie Stone of Lawrenceville with whom she shared the home; Mrs. Elmer Hutchings, St. Francisville, Route 1, Mrs. Lester Feldman, Allendale, Route 1 and Mrs. Frank Colmer of Mansfield, Illinois; six nieces, three nephews and many friends and relatives.

She was loved and respected because of her kindness and consideration of others. She will be greatly missed by all.
