68 of Cedar Rapids formerly of Ft. Dodge and Omaha, Nebraska died at her home in Cedar Rapids on Friday December 16, 2011. Memorial services at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Northlawn Cemetery Chapel in Ft. Dodge. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her two sisters, Dawn (Alan) Kourey Sabin of Cedar Rapids and Gail Kourey of Colorado. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Arick, Andrew and Raechal Sabin. She was preceded in death by her parents. Saundra was born on September 2, 1943 in Ft. Fodge the daughter of Abraham and Lillys Conderman Kourey. She graduated from Ft. Dodge High School and later from the University of Iowa with a degree in special education. Saundra taught special education and was a dedicated teacher at McMillan and Benson High Schools in Omaha for many years until her retirement. She was a very creative writer and supported many organizations that were close to her heart. Saundra enjoyed traveling, nature and especially the time she spent with her beloved family and many many friends. Memorial donations may be given to the Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha.
