I taught grade 5 for two years; the 2nd year was the first year of mandatory busing (1976-77). Then, I stayed home 23 years with my kids, with a few years of subbing. I went back to college, got re-certified, my ESL endorsement, and master's degree. I taught ESL from 2000-2014.

I have many more states to travel to, but lived in Albuquerque for 3 years. I've traveled to Canada and in Europe: Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands. I've also been to Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and India, where our daughter and son-in-law had their 2nd wedding reception.
--In Belgium, we visited the son of a Belgian farmer, who in 1944 welcomed my father-in-law and 100 US troops to stay in their 4 story barn so they wouldn't have to sleep in the rain, a few months before the Battle of the Bulge. It was an amazing experience; I was awed by their gratitude to Americans, stating "where would we be if the Americans hadn't liberated us?"
