Donna Jean Noll, age 66 of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully with family members nearby early Wednesday morning, July 1st at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Donna was born in York, Nebraska, the daughter of Donald J. Noll and Betty Jean (Schoonover) Noll. Donna was raised in Sanborn, Iowa and attended the Sanborn School District, graduating from High School in 1967. She then attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1971. She next attended University of Nebraska in Omaha and received a Master's Degree in Education in 1975. She lived her adult life in Omaha and taught in the Omaha Public School District, beginning in 1975, teaching Reading/English at McMillan Junior High and then at Central High School until her retirement in 2005. Donna also became a licensed real estate agent and was active in Omaha real estate. Donna was very involved in Educational Politics and Democratic Politics. She actually took a year off to manage the campaign of Peter Hoagland. She loved to travel: NEA Conventions, Democratic Conventions, Inaugurations, trips south with family members, trips with friends were all favorites. She was an avid collector of anything Mickey Mouse and antiques of all kinds. She liked watching football: Packers, Hawks, and Huskers in that order. Donna is survived by two brothers and their spouses, Mark Noll and Connie (Zylstra) Noll of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Mike Noll and Brenda (Olson) Noll of Grayslake, Illinois; six nephews and nieces and two grandnephews and grandnieces.
There will be a Celebration of Life Reception for Donna on Friday, July 10th from 6pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel.
FUNERAL SERVICE Saturday, July 11th at 1pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Sanborn, Iowa.
Interment, Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn.
Memorials to the Central High School Foundation to fund student activity fees. The family would like to thank the nurses/doctors/staff at Remington Heights Assisted Living Facility and at the University of Nebraska Medical Center for the care that Donna received.
