Preceded in death by wife, Vivian Cain in 1982. Survived by wife Marilyn Cain, brother Bill Cain (Nancy) and sister Velma Jean Hayes. Also survived by children of Robert and Vivian, sons Michael (Rita), Larry (Sue), David (Sharon), John (Chris), and daughter Nancy Engdahl (preceded in death by husband Rob). Also survived by stepchildren Stephanie Moeller (Larry), Jim Homann (Jane), and Shelley Pauba (Jeff), grandchildren Michelle, Meredith, Cindy, Jeff, Randy, Scott, Patti, Terri, Bonnie, John, Becky, Christian, Robert, Heather, Sarah, Andrew, James, Derek, Chelsea, and preceded in death by grandson Brian Cogswell and granddaughter Rachel, 29 great grandchildren, and 8 great, great grandchildren.

Robert was an English teacher for 43 years beginning in Valley and then in Omaha at Monroe, Tech, Central, Northwest and then back to Central before retiring. He served his country in the army from 1946-1947.

Visitation Friday from 5-8pm at Westlawn Hillcrest Chapel. Celebration of Life Service Saturday at 10am at Westlawn Hillcrest Chapel.

Interment Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Maplewood United Methodist Church or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
