Rubin Isaac Fields, Sr., 73, the man who knew no strangers, died peacefully at home October 15, 2015. Rubin was born in Lake Charles, LA. He was a graduate of Southern University and received his masters in counseling from UNO. He worked in the Omaha Public Schools until retirement and moved to Des Moines, Iowa. He was a member of Elim Christian Fellowship and Cross Trainers.

He leaves his wife Jennifer, sons Rubin I. (Eva) Fields, Jr., Peter (Michele) Buechler, daughters Erin Buechler, Traci Shobe and his grandbabies who were his heart.

The family thanks the wonderful people of Unity Point Hospice, especially D. and R., and Dr. K. Burns for all their love and support.

Celebration of Life services will be held 11:00 Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Elim Christian Fellowship, 529 E. 9th St. Des Moines, IA.
