Priscilla A. McIntosh (McNamara)

9/1/1934 - 9/13/2017

Priscilla Anne, "Pris" McNamara, age 83, died in Omaha, NE on September 13, 2017 after courageously facing traumatic brain disease. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death. The family is especially grateful to the incredible caregiving team that stood by Pris' side during her journey to heaven.

A proud, lifelong Nebraskan, Pris (McIntosh) McNamara was born in Fremont in 1934. She graduated valedictorian from St. Patrick's High School of Fremont in 1952 and Magna Cum Laude from Duchesne College of the Sacred Heart in 1956. Pris married the love of her life, Lee F. McNamara, M.D., on June 30, 1956.

Pris taught 4th grade in Omaha Public Schools at Belvedere Elementary until 1959, when she left teaching to raise her children full-time. Later she returned to work as a travel consultant at Pegasus and worked as the business director for Suburban West Medical until her retirement at 73. She was instrumental in helping Lee sustain his family medical practice for 53 years.

Active in several Omaha charitable causes, most meaningful to Pris were her years of volunteer work with Duchesne Academy and the Society of Sacred Heart. Pris will be remembered for her deep love of family, many beautiful and life-long friendships, bedrock belief in education, love of books, warm smile, inviting spirit, sense of style, sweet tooth, phenomenal organization skills, and commanding bridge game. Pris also had a special gift for bringing family and friends together for famous celebrations that will long be remembered.
