Dollis, Dorothy Age 98 Passed away on March 13, 2018, at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.

Dorothy was born on April 8, 1919, on a farm near Minden NE, to the late Knud and Gerda Andersen. She married William Dollis of Brooklyn NY, on May 28, 1944, and they had three children: Vikki Covington (Tommy) of Canon City CO, Gregory Dollis (Mary Lou) of Warren NJ, and Bradley Dollis of Omaha. Dorothy is survived by her children; one grandchild; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Ronald Andersen.

Dorothy was a lifelong teacher: in a one room school house south of Minden, in Brooklyn NY, and in a Nursery School in her basement in Omaha. Her last 22 years of teaching were at Dr. J. P. Lord School and Hartman Elementary, teaching physically and intellectually challenged KG and first graders. The family made a donation in her honor to the Omaha Public Schools Foundation for use at the newly constructed Dr. J. P. Lord School.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: Wednesday, April 4, at 5pm at Rockbrook Methodist Church, 99th & Center.

VISITATION with the family will follow. Like her husband, her body was donated to the Nebraska Medical Center.
