Services for Randy Amoroso, 34, of Omaha, will be conducted Saturday, September 20, 2003, at 4 pm, at the First Baptist Church of Omaha. Mr. Hatfield was born October 6, 1988, in Subic Bay, Philippines. He died Sunday, September 14, 2003, in Beeville, TX. He was a 1968 graduate of Paul H. Pewitt High School and joined the US Navy where he served aboard the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier specializing in helicopter air and sea rescue. During this tour of duty, he was awarded the ‘letter of commendation’ from his ship captain during Desert Storm operations. Following his tour in the service, he began employment at Red River Army Depot. Driven by a deep love for music and entertaining, he traveled to Nashville, TN, to follow his lifelong dream of a musical career. After enjoying a chance at stardom, he moved back to Omaha where he was inspired to become a correctional officer, graduating from the Edmundo Mireless Criminal Justice Training Academy. A work related injury led to his departure and time in recovery. He later took employment with Lone Star Steel prior to moving his family to the Corpus Christi area. He was a devoted and loving father, son, brother and friend to all who knew him as he was blest with a kind heart and an amazingly cheerful personality. He is survived by three daughters; his parents, Lourdes and Billy Hatfield, Jr; grandfather, William Hatfield Sr; brother, Bill Hatfield and wife, Rebecca, all of Omaha; sister, Tina and husband, Bryan Crawford of Simms; and sister, Inday and husband James Locke of Oklahoma City. Interment with full military honors, will be at the Omaha Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Service.
