Hey guys, remember Mr. Hart? Coach Hart? When I was working at Onondaga co. Justice Ctr. he was an inmate a few times.I think for theft of service or something petty like that. He's not quite right. (No Hippa here, jail is public record). I brought my yearbook in for him and he was elated to look through it. Took it right in his cell and gave it back to me the next day. His cheeks must have hurt from smiling. Sad to see him end up like that.

He just got busted again for breaking in to a house in Sylvan Beach. How sad. I remember him showing us how to do a drop kick in football practise.

I met Larry Carello at a book signing held at the Colgate Bookstore back in the Fall! He has written a wonderful novel and it was a pleasure to see him again!

I have been looking for a copy of Larry's book and haven't had any luck. Where can I buy a copy?

Jill- You can email Larry through this reunion website, contact the Colgate bookstore or contact Larry's publisher at P.O. Box B
Lakeland, MI 48143
I'm looking at his book now and I don't find a name for his publisher!
You might even try Amazon.com

My surgery is over and I'm on the mend. I have cadaver bones in me and have to wear a bone stimulator to help them fuse. I feel I have received the ultimate gift and will be forever grateful. I am going to do the same. I ordered Larry Carello's book online at Barnes and Noble. I got it the next day. Super speedy service. It is a delightful novel that you will enjoy reading. I hope he writes another. Has anyone heard from or about Pete Stevens? He was a nice guy that everyone liked. And what about Maria Bishop? Anyone know anything about her?

That bone stimulater sure sounds good!!!

Rob Kinsella

Ozzie, I don't think it's the kind of bone stimulator that you would be looking for.

I also remember the house calls Dr. Kinsella made back in the OLD days. Not something that would happen now days!
It was great growing up in Oneida; have alot of fond memories; like walking to high school in fridgid temperatures with a mini dress on!

Rob,
You did a wonderful job with this website. My husband has been planning his high school reunions for the last 45 years and their high school's website cannot compare.

Hey Donna, add "peace" to the list. I can also remember walking to school in frigid weather with a skirt on. Girls couldn't wear pants..what a stupid rule. I found some pictures that are fun. I have a few from the Bud Balou show. Remember? My mother took pictures of us on the TV.My scanner doesn't work so I'm trying to figure out how to upload them. I also have some pics of Sunset Lake from the 50's. I took swimming lessons there and remember the water was so clean and sparkly. I drove by there a few years ago and it looked like a nuclear bomb hit. No trees, just black stumps. What happened?? What a shame.

I remember hanging out at the Dairy Parlor on Route 5; which is gone now and Leonards Hotel! Also remember the best Ice Cream at Dewan's Dairy! Remember the dances they used to have at Allen Park?

05/04/09 01:36 PM #27

Donna Aber

Hello Leonards, i hung out in the back with pam, the only time we got to go in was to clean... that was a blast. Then I came home when i was old enough and it was a lumber store, i went in anyway just to look around.. smelled diffrent..Allen park dances they were wicked fun. so was the Armory dances and all the field days, ice skating at vets field, roller skates with keys.what was the name of the store by the Junior High??

Where do you think Jeff Behr's coneheads south is???I remember his dad's store. by Campbells with the half and half cookies. also a fish store, cooked fish wrapped in newspaper. Every Friday fish at school..

05/04/09 04:28 PM #29

Kathy Staaf (Tucker)

I think the name of the store by the Junior High was called Scanlon's. How about french fries with vinegar at the Beach and the graduation party at a camp down there. I never drank vodka after that! Remember the blizzard of '66...we don't get storms like that anymore. How about going trick or treating and never having to worry about poison or razor blades in our candy. The only thing I remember about being afraid of in school, was the air-raid drills, not about somebody going postal! I guess we had it better than we thought! Hey Sue, I'd love to see the pictures of the Bud Ballou show.

Sue Sochan (Welty)

I'll have to give the pics to someone with a scanner and have them e-mail them to me. Remember John Amen's list of top 10 girlfriends? Kathy Readman was always on it. Remember ripping off the fairy loops(?) from the backs of guys shirts?? I remember a Buscher's store, on Madison. They had everything. Oneida was a pretty good place to grow up in.
