How was your stay?I guess that would have depended on how long ago it was, lots to see now. still have lots of roedo's and the stockyards, lots of Indian owned casino's. hugh racetrack, world's best krulling on the Oklahoma River put on by Chesapeak oil company. River walk and ride through downtown Oklahoma city, sport events, big concert's.Hot windy temps. lol then there is the rest of the state..

Truthfully, it was pretty uneventful--I was driving from Fort Huachuca, Az to NY--and was a little too road weary to really enjoy myself--about all I really remember is doing a little shopping, getting something to eat and crashing at some motel--and it was a while ago--1978!

If my memories are still accurate--it was nice driving in Oklahoma though

the only thing I remember buying for sure while there was some kind of ridiculous rubber gorilla mask at a K-Mart type of store whose name escapes me

Does any one besides me think it strange that our 1969 class reunion has 69 people attending?

07/21/09 12:24 PM #184

Rob Kinsella

Sorry to burst the bubble, but we are now up to 76 and counting. But, the thought was nice.

Pam Z., are you following the user forum? If not, you better. Bob V. has you in black leather with a whip!!

07/21/09 11:38 PM #186

Tim Thomas

Now we know what Bobby V. was fantasizing about while daydreaming in class back then. lol!

07/22/09 01:06 AM #187

Robert Vandenheuvel

Tim, that makes it sound like "past tense"

07/22/09 08:32 PM #188

Tim Thomas

"Past Tense"............How the rest of us refer to Bob after Pam and his wife Mary corner him at the reunion to explain these deep, dark fantasies. :)

Is there going to be an informal get together at Dunns?

07/24/09 01:34 PM #191

Tim Thomas

Only if some of us decide to make it so! The last time I checked, about a week ago, Dunn's was ahead in the survey by 4 votes. Now I get this notice saying that the vote was a tie and that the head honcho decrees the get together will be at Alexanders!
Could there have been some last minute ballot box stuffing going on? Does someone involved have a monetary interest in Alexanders? Is the North Side STILL being discriminated against? Does Pokey go anywhere without Gumby?
Tune in next week at the Reunion to get the answer to these and other perplexing questions.

Well at least they are both within walking distance to the police station and the mayors office. Maybe we need to have a sit in so bring your own beer.............

hey y'all! 'Sorry I haven't been in touch for awhile. 'Been laid up...YadaYada...'Wont be able to come; however, I'm sending Rob some pics & memorabilia to share re:class of "69,etc. 'Must say my memories defer 'cause I lived in the country, but...how about jeans day, having to watch Jude "do" her split ends in classes, walking to Methodist Church for choir practice(with a side trip to the soda fountain downtown), cruising the Midway at the beach with girlfriends
singing along with the car radio ("One is the loneliest number that we'll ever do"...). the biggest thrill of getting my license was so I could pick up my brothers after their sports practices, 'cause I got to see all the freshly showered other guys, too!
'Bought Larry's book, loved it- especially 'cause I worked at Eddie's & lived at the beach for several years.'Wish I could get it signed...I'd love to at least send a fan letter...
RE: special moments...Mountain Man, on a dare, climbing & walking across the free-standing grocery store sign...Pat Kindig & David McCleary taking me skiing & I broke my nose going uphill on a T-bar...the guys who got caught by my mother skinny-dipping in our pool...& the time Scott Walter picked her up & threw her in it!
And lastly, Dennis Brown's dying just before graduation-he'd ridden his horse to see me just days before...Scott- you must remember how tragic it was...
'Hope y'all enjoy the stuff I sent to Rob. I'll sure miss seeing all of you. Laura Wilson Owenby

I don't see why the Mayor doesn't open up city hall on Friday and throw a kegger

07/25/09 07:21 AM #195

Dennis King

maybe because he is not allowed out of the house after 7:00pm. It must be the new curfew thing............

07/26/09 04:04 AM #196

Robert Vandenheuvel

well he could still pay for the kegs-open up the hall--and go home if he has to--we'll all act responsibly--and most of us are voters

then again-what a cool headline it would be "Brawl at the Hall-Mayor arrested in drunken gang fight at City Hall"

Dear Friends;
I will, unfortunately, not be attending the reunion. I have so enjoyed the yearbook pictures and updates...and emails from classmates. While I did not graduate with you as a class,I am honored to have been a member and to have known you all. I, too, believe Rob has been the driving force behind this wonderful reunion. It's a lot of work, and greatly appreciated as we can all see by the emails in this forum. Rob, you give us all a great gift by doing this.
So now I have one question...how long will this site remain online and accessible to us all? I love to look at the yearbook pictures and have shared them with my kids. (mom, that's YOU?). With Best Regards, Cathy Lancaster(Primack)

So sorry to say,my story time ended today. Time to move on. Many thanks for the help it would not have been possible to create such a master piece without all of the great input.Things are moving very fast down here in Pa,my youngest daughter is on her way to have my 4th grand child, and my son is getting married this September and his brides wedding shower is this Sunday,so our visit will be short but sweet. I can't wait to see how much we have all changed. Until This week-end..............
