I've liked Mick Jagger and the Stones ever since I first heard them on my cheap transiter radio while laying awake late at night listening to WLS out of Chicago. They just have that sound that gets you going and have been able to adapt quite well to changing times and music.  Their stage presence and longevity are a testiment to my good judgement as they just keep 'rolling' along.

I would have picked the Stones too, but since Tim did, The Beatles would have to come next just for the volumes of songs they put out. The Who and ZZTop have longevity but my personal favorite was Creedence.

The best groups were Iron Butterfly and of course the Doors.  Scott,their music was great especially if you were lost after a quick tote.  Do you remember that day?  Now that was funny.

I would have to agree with Tim and Sue, in terms of success, music, and their live shows it's hard to beat the Stones.  But, I would say that my favorite muscian, songwriter, performer, etc. is Van Morrison.  Check out http://www.vanmorrison.com/ for a live clip from his latest DVD.

Who could beat the Beatles -- with Led Zeppelin a close second.  Once Sue and I were standing outside an Armory Dance and someone came up to us and exclaimed how Sue looked like Brian Jones of the Stones and I resembled Mick Jagger!!!  I think that is why the Stones come in third!

My favorite Rock n Roll Band is Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band.  He has been around since the early sixties and is still recording today.  I just love all his songs.  The Beatles, Stones, ZZ Top etc are all great, but Bob Seger can always put me in a good mood.

All things considered-it's pretty hard to top the Stones--though Pink Floyd did great for a while
