Michael A. Panzica at the age of 68 of 240 N. Main Street, Oneida, N.Y. died Sunday, September 8, 2019 in Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. after a brief illness. He was born on March 4, 1951 in Oneida, N.Y., the son of Augustine and Jennie Chingari Panzica. He was a graduate of Oneida High School and lived in Oneida all his life and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church where at one time he taught religious classes. In his early years, he owned and operated the Jesus is Lord gift and book store in Oneida. Mike loved music, especially Bob Dylan and enjoyed playing guitar. He dedicated his life to working with people with disabilities ,his last job prior to his retirement was with Onondaga Community Living in Syracuse, N.Y. for over 20 years as a Direct Support Aide. Mike had a big heart, he was always helping people and was known to open his home to everyone. He will be greatly missed.Surviving are one daughter, Heather Panzica, a son Michael and his wife Carletta Panzica, who he thought of as a daughter, three grand-daughters, Juliana, Jennie and Danielle Panzica, two grand-sons, Michael “Bubba” and David Panzica all of Oneida, N.Y., and his best friend and the love of his life, Roberta Panzica. He is also survived by a special friend who was like a son to him, Christopher Rong of Oneida., several aunts and uncles and cousins and a very special aunt, Joanne Goff of Utica, N.Y. Also a great grandson, Jeremiah, who is yet to be born that he was looking forward to meeting. Mike was predeceased by his parents and a son Christopher.
