Peggy was first diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when she was 13 and I was 11. At that time, the doctors told us that she probably would not live past 20. She was 40 when she died which, I’m sure, made her pretty proud that she’d outlived all their expectations. I was proud of her too. Peggy was married twice. The first time, at the age of 19, in 1971. Bruce Nelson was a nice, quiet man who we thought matched Peggy’s personality well. I really don’t know what happened to cause the divorce several years later .. perhaps they just grew apart. Peggy moved back to our hometown of Chicago after our father died in 1980. There she met and married another very nice man named Nate Finch in the early 1980s. She remained marrried to Nate until she passed in her sleep at home in 1993.  May she rest in peace - Jan Schroeder
