Many who were part of our 1st Grade Class, did not graduate with us. A few of those who left our location, never left our hears. Jerry was on of those.

I had two different relationships with Jerry. The first was grade school. I remember Jerry as being one of the few in the school to be part of band.We played football for St Mary's. Jerry lived in the Big Molley House on McArthur. I can remember calling up Ordway, Jerry Art and Maurice (maybe even D. Gibson) to practice. After a 'practice' we would go to Jerry's house and swim. Just from the size of the house, I know the Molleys had money. Jerry never acted like a kid with more resources than us.
My second relationship with Jerry came my junior year at Lamar. Jerry and I had run into each other one night at the Pelican and he was looking for a room mate. My now-brother-n-law Don Bayless were rooming together in Beaumont. We were looking for two other room mates to move into a nice & new apartment right across from McDonald Gym. Jerry moved in.
We had some great times there. We picked up the nick names of "Big Jer" & "Little Jer". There are three great stories you should ask me about at the reunion involving 'Big & Little Jer" - 1) Selling insurance, 2) Ike & Tina Turner vs. the M-1 and 3) Big Jer's last shower.
When I remember my friend Jerry, I just have to smile.
