As quoted from a fundraiser cookbook titled "COOKING GRACEfully" and compiled by the Friends of Grace Morrella: Our friend, Grace Morrella, has touched our lives in so many ways. We were fortunate enough to share with her and her husband, Joe, the happiness of the miraculous birth of their son, Joey, in 1991. We also shared in the sadness of the later knowledge that she was no longer in remission from leukemia. Grace will always be remembered for her warmth and caring, her great big smile, and her contagious laughter. But most of all, we shall remember her for her incredible strength and courage. Because it took just that to see her through the bone marrow transplant in January 1993, and then endure the ensuing complications. As is any devoted parent's wish, Grace wanted to watch her son grow up to be a fine young man. Unfortunately, it was not God's will, and He reached down from Heaven and ended her suffering on May 25, 1993. We can still help see Grace's wish fulfilled. The contributions raised from this cookbook, which was compiled by her friends, associates, and family, will be placed in a trust fund for Joey's education. 'Although those who knew her best were deeply saddened when she was laid to rest, We still can carry a smile upon our face knowing that Grace is now is a very peaceful place.
