Edward Stuart Bowen
1952 ~ 2012
Edward Stuart Bowen, age 60, passed away November 16, 2012 at his home in Mapleton, Utah, from complications of CHF and COPD. He was born in Provo, Utah on August 18, 1952 to David Stuart and Frances Edwards Bowen. He married Reva Ann Ferre Liddiard-Bowen on December 15, 1999.
Eddie attended Orem Schools, Westmore Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High School, Orem High School, and graduated from Provo High School in 1970. He packed a lot of living into his short 60 years of life. He had worked for Geneva Steel, owned his own trucking business and worked for the Provo School District, retiring this year after 25 years of service.
Eddie was a member of the Springville Presbyterian Church, where he donated many hours of service over the years. He was a friend to all and generous with his many talents in helping others. He enjoyed camping in the mountains and deserts of Utah and was an avid hunter. He served on the Ski Patrol at Sundance for many years. If you were in trouble, you wanted to have Ed close by. Ed was very creative. His last project was building a large pond in his back yard. Friends enjoyed many good times around the fire with Ed. He was there when you needed him and could fix it or knew the right person to send you to.
The world has lost a great man and we, his family and friends, will miss his humor, sparkling blue eyes and the pleasure of being a part of his life. Baby Traygen will enjoy hearing stories of his grandpa.
He is survived by his wife, Reva; children, Westley Stuart (Jessica) Bowen, of Spanish Fork, Utah, Amy (Brandon) Fife, of Washington, Utah, Staci Liddiard, of Washington, Utah and Jerel Elkins, of Provo, Utah; his mother, Frances Edwards Bowen, of Orem, Utah; 7 grandchildren, Traygen Edward, Olivia, Austin, Landon, Jordan, Mckinley and Chandler; brothers, David Barry Bowen, of Provo, Utah, James Todd (Gina) Bowen, of Orem, Utah; sisters, Kristine (Al) Christiansen, of Orem, Utah and Tami Hedger-Bowen, of Herriman, Utah. Ed was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Sheri Bowen.
A private celebration of Ed's life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family through info@bergmortuary.com
