June 7, 1960 - June 7, 2009 Jeffrey James Dickinson fell into a peaceful sleep and went home to be with his Lord on June 7, 2009, his 49th birthday. He was born to Carolyn and George Dickinson on June 7, 1960, in Enid, Okla., although he lived most of his life in Kansas City, Mo. Jeff graduated in 1978 from Shawnee Mission South High School, where he was a high-stepping drum major both his junior and senior years. Jeff then went on to attend KU. Jeff spent most of his life dedicated to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and worked to spread the gospel to many through Calvary Chapel, both in Olathe, Kan., as well as Costa Mesa, Calif. He was involved in many missions and church projects. Jeff has been living in Sarasota, Fla., where his mother and stepfather live, since 2004. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, George W. Dickinson, on July 1, 1986. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn K. Dickinson-Rue, and his stepfather William J. Rue, of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Steven Douglas Dickinson of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Michael David Dickinson of Baldwin City, Kan.; his stepbrother William J. Rue Jr. of Twin Peaks, Calif., and stepsister Deborah K. Rue-Hessler of Louisburg, Kan. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. (Jennings Funeral Home & Crematory in Sarasota, Fla., 941-926-2223)
