Scott A. Burhans, 36, Olathe, KS, passed away March 1, 1998, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman

Mr. Burhans was born March 11, 1961, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from
Shawnee Mission South High School in 1979, and from UMKC in 1985 with a B.S.
degree in accounting. He was a project manager for Midwest Mechanical
Contractors. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Burhans, in 1978.
Survivors include his father, Stuart Burhans, Overland Park, KS; mother, Carole
Pope, Overland Park, KS; wife, Felisha and stepson, Danny, both of Olathe, KS;
daughter, Lindsay Burhans, Overland

I am sorry to see that Scott has passed away. I worked with him at the Zeff Company in Overland Park during my senior year. Scott was one of those guys with high intelligence and low patience. He was a car nut, a very good mechanic. I remember him getting very ticked off when the rest of us fledgling gearheads would talk about this or that car, or engine spec, ect. He would correct us but usually knew what he was talking about. Scott never talked about losing his brother, Dave, who was killed in a drag racing mishap on College Blvd in 1978. It was obviously a painful subject. Rest in peace.Bill Collins
I was at the drag site that night in 1978. They changed all the light poles to break away poles after that night. So sorry to hear about Scott. His parents hearts were broken in 1978 and it's such a tragedy to have Scott gone so soon too.
