Al was the kindest, most gentle person with a hilarious outlook on life. It's all quite a shame to loose anybody from our class way before their time should be up. What a great guy he was to me in High School. Best to his family & close friends.
All the years of baseball... all the music... and all those lunches when we headed to McDonald's on 95th in that rotten, old green station wagon (those were the pre-van days)... he'll live in my mind! A.S.P. was one great character that left a good memory with me AND my entire family.
Really bummed to hear of Alan's passing. I'll never forget that famous van he had -- boy did the smoke pour out when the doors flew open! Alan was a kind smile and had no enemies.
Al was a great guy and a wonderful friend. I remember going to his house alot and partying in the basement, boy those were the days. His van was always a party on wheels and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. God bless his loved ones. RIP
I moved from Jersey to KC in 1977 and Al was one of the first guys to make an effort to make me feel welcome. One of the most intelligently gifted and good hearted individuals that you could hope to call your friend. His van was legendary and he had the most wicked slider. RIP Al.

Played ball with Al many years, his father was my coach, to the best that word means.Nicest people ever.
I still remember his father putting my name in the paper, incorrectly, on purpose, Andy Stevenson, when I got a bit heady. Best lesson. Never forget.
Sorry for the loss.
Best guys, Cheers.
