The posted information is for a different William Sherman and is not correct for the Bill Sherman who was in our high school class. Barry Cipra and Bill Sherman were good friends. Bill never married and sadly died by suicide in 1974.
Kerry and Andy have it right. Bill's full name was William Tecumseh Sherman and he was a direct descendant of General Sherman. Since one of my great grandfathers served with Sherman, I remember discussing this connection with Bill when we were attending Nallwood.

Kerry is correct. Wrong Bill Sherman. Our classmate Bill died in 1974. I remember attending his memorial service.
