Sylvia Toburen died on  April 15, 2008 after as she lost her battle with Multiple Sclerosis MS. She  was the first Christmas baby of 1948 in Kansas City, born to Ethel and Eugene Toburen. During her childhood she lived in several places in Kansas with her mother and younger sister, Dierdra. In 1965, at the age of 16, she went on a blind-date/hayride and met a nice, handsome young man, Kevin, who became her husband.. They were married on August 26, 1967, and moved to Hawaii.  They had twin daughters and three more daughters. They moved to Monterey, Santa Cruz, and finally Aptos in 1976.
