Steve was a quiet nice guy. He and his brother, Mark, ran Cross Country with me. He never complained about the hard practices Coach McGuire put us thru, i.e. running forty 440s for time... Steve always had a faster time than me. Mark and I competed for a spot on Varsity. At a meet at SMW we made a sharp turn around a fence, Mark took off my shoe with his cleeks. I finished the race running with one shoe on and one shoe off. I kidded Mark and Steve about the lengths Mark would go to slow me down. Both Steve and Mark were very quiet guys.(That was one of the few times my Dad saw me run in a meet.)  Steve will be missed.
