Cheryle and I were great friends all through our high school years....we shared many adventures, joys, tears and fun times together... After graduation we stayed in touch for a number of years, then she moved to Florida. She married, had a son, Michael and we kept in touch with birthday, christmas cards and the occasional "out of the blue" phone call. As the years passed the contact became less and less, she had moved and I didn't have her new address... Then in the summer of 2004 I started thinking about her a lot and wondering what was happening in her life. I wanted to tell her how much her friendship had meant to me all those years ago. For some reason I got busy with kids and grandkids and put off trying to find her. Then in November I finally located her sister, Karen and it was then that I learned that Cheryle had passed away just two weeks earlier. My biggest regret is that I put off contacting her until it was to late. She died of a brain tumor at 59.
Cheryle worked as a nurses aide in Florida. I am sure that she did a very great job of spreading good cheer to others. I am friends with her brother in law's sister. We wintered in Florida. By the time this came about, she was in very bad shape. Her mother Evelyn and a friend of Cheryle's took care of her at her mother's home for some time. I felt very sad when Lynne told me that she was not going to be here long. RIP Cheryle.
