Kay Miller Purcell

BS in Chemistry, Married, got hs teaching certificate, taught hs chemistry and physics for one year, had two kids, raised them to jr hi age, MS in physics, taught various course in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Southern Illinois University, officially retired Dec 2004; returned to work part time January 2006, became a grandmother September 2007, retired December 2012.

--> I did not realize that we had had a college chemistry course in high school until I sat through the first year of chemistry without meeting a new concept. We were lucky that Mr. Ward taught chemistry at PJC (now PCC) and only had one set of lecture notes.
--> When I was a senior, Mrs. Smedley told me that she had given me a B the first six weeks because she could not believe that anyone with handwriting as atrocious as mine could possibly understand geometry.
