Obituary of Susan Jane Lohr
Susan Lohr passed away on December 27, 2020 at her home in Raleigh, NC surrounded with the love of her husband Robert Lohr of 51 years and their three children.
She was born on January 18, 1947 in Painesville, OH to George and Elizabeth (Metzger) Barbieri. Sue graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and shortly after married Robert in the ‘summer of love’. She was a teacher at The Phillips School in Painesville, OH and an active member of St. Therese parish in Deephaven, MN and St Therese Parish in Wilson, NC where she loved fellowship and volunteering. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, golf, reading, traveling to new places and life long trips to Wrightsville Beach. Sue had a great sense of humor and was loved by her friends, not only because of her and Bob’s legendary parties, but her giving and generous spirit.

Survived by her husband Robert Lohr, daughter Carole Lohr (Nashville, TN), son Clark Lohr, daughter-in-law Laurie, and granddaughter Kayla (Rogers, MN), son George Lohr (Raleigh, NC), her sister Debbie (Jack) McLeod (Wilmington, NC), sister in-law Madeleine Marbach (Wheaton, IL), and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents George and Elizabeth Barbieri (Painesville, OH), brother John and sister-in-law Jane Barbieri (Findlay, OH) and brother Richard Barbieri (Wheaton, IL).

A funeral mass for the immediate family will take place on December 31, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Raleigh, NC. A memorial in Sue’s honor for her many friends and family will be held at a later date.
