The first thing you noticed about Theresa Binns Hohlfelder was her laugh. Loud, raucous, unrestrained … full of fun and energy, it was her signature. It announced her presence to friend and stranger alike, and she took it with her wherever she went. That laugh, along with the enthusiasm and verve she brought into every life she touched and every room she visited, was stilled Sept. 5 when she passed away in Findlay, Ohio – her home for that last many years. Theresa – Terrie to her friends and Tee or Aunt TeeTee to the many children and grandchildren of family and friends, was born on March 25, 1947, to Walter and Dorothy Binns in Painesville. A native of Leroy, she moved to Findlay when her husband, Ron (Kimmy) Hohlfelder took a job there. She and Ron were high school sweethearts, married in 1969, and were an inseparable, inspirational love story to all who knew them until Ron’s passing in 2016. They enjoyed boating, vacationing in their Bradenton, Fla. condominium, and traveling to Las Vegas – but above all, they loved the company, good times and uncounted meals with their many treasured friends from both Findlay and Painesville. Survivors include brother Jim (Donna) Binns; nephews Orion (Andria) Binns and Joseph Binns; grand nephews Cameron James Binns and Alex Binns; grand nieces Santina Binns and Victoria Binns; and Ron’s sister, Karen Hohlfelder. In addition to her husband, Terrie was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Linda Binns. Terrie was a 1965 graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville, where she was head majorette in the marching band and an enthusiastic participant in a host of other activities. After high school she worked for many years at Evans Chevrolet in Painesville before opening her own business, Tantalize, in Mentor. After moving to Findlay, she worked in real estate at a RE/MAX office. Terrie loved music, jewelry, clothes, movies, music and poker (she always looked beautiful!), and she loved and cared for many cats through the years. She left behind Louie, her only remaining cat. She will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville, next to her beloved Ron. No services are planned at this time. When your wind chimes sound, or a cardinal visits you, please know that Terrie is saying hello! “Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and so very dear.” – Kelly’s Treehouse.
