Obituary for Stephen Albert Saari

Stephen Albert Saari, 73, of Painesville, Ohio passed away on Monday September 6th, 2021. Steve was born on October 16th, 1947. He graduated from Riverside High School in Painesville in 1965 where he lettered in sports.

He served in the Coast Guard from 1967-1971 and was a proud representative of the branch for his entire life. Steve was preceded in death by parents Eli and Agnes and brother Richard. Steve is survived by his brother Albert, children Christopher (Jennifer), Stephanie Solich, Elizabeth (Kevin) McCusker, grandchildren Lindsey Rothhaar (Kyler), Meghan and Leia Solich, Turner Saari, Charlie and Lucy McCusker and nephew Sean (Keri) Saari, and their children Jack, Paige, Callahan, and Kip.

Steve had a lifelong passion for sports, music, and surfing. He particularly loved the Cleveland Browns and the Rams - no matter what city they played for. He also was a proud supporter of each high school and collegiate team his kids or nephew attended (Go Red Raiders, Go Cardinals, Go Cougars, Go Irish, Go Eagles, Go Bucks, Go Boilermakers). “All I can be is me, whoever that is.” - Bob Dylan “Feelin’ tired, but I feel good cause I did everything I said I would, I think of you, and I know how you’ll be feelin’.” – Gerry Rafferty A graveside service will take place at 11 am, Friday, September 17, 2021, at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
