Cathy Mancini and I were in choir together when I was at good old Palm Springs High School. As a senior and in attendance of choirmaster Richard W Reed's PSHS chorus, we were performing at Robbies Ice cream parlor. Cahty's mother agreed to give me a ride home.
The interesting part is that Cathy and her mom had a friend who lived almost directly behind the ice cream parlor in a small house. She was kind of a mystic of sorts, Cathy had said. This older woman said that I would become a writer sometime in my life and that I would travel all over Europe when I was in my fifties. I also remember how elegant and regal looking Cathy's mom was... I am sorry to hear of Cathy's passing.... It is sad to lose a high school friend.
