CC Elementary RIP! Posted Friday, May 22, 2009 04:41 AM It continues to be a sad sight when I pass the now very vacant, bare lot where my elementary school used to be. A bit upsetting that there is now no remnant of the many years spent there. I realize that a more modern, larger school was desired but still... Dean --Dean W |

What? I was looking forward to going by the place to see it again. It is gone? I guess I better really hold on to the old year books for sure.

RE: CC Elementary RIP! Posted Friday, July 17, 2009 02:47 PM I agree totally! I hated to see it go. It has extra special memories for me because my daughter attended there for 3 years as well. I can still remember taking her to her first day at kindergarten like it was yesterday. |

Hi, Dean. The building is gone but the memories live on, I used to live half a block from the school on Allen St., and that house too is gone. But, I will never forget the time I spent there, I started in Ms. McCallum(sp) 4th grade class, then Ms. Erickson for 5th, and Mr. Prutsman(sp) in 6th. I loved being in the Melodrama that he had us put on, and how can I forget the day our Principal Mr. Davis fired Mr. Prutsman in front of a stunned 6th grade class. They both stormed out of the classroom, only to return laughing and explaining that it was an April Fool's joke. I learned to speak english that first year in 4th grade, only to realize now that I still have a lot to learn. The school is gone, but it lives on in us. |
