Any stories from the years you were in FBLA?
Not as a student. However, during my second year back at PHS as a teacher, I asked Mrs. Brown (my former business teacher and colleague at the time) if she would allow me to take over the FLBA that year. We had 30 paid members that year--the most for many years. When attending a competition in Ft. Myers, one of my students told me she dressed the way she did, because that's how I dressed. She wore a dress with a scarf and that style was in at the time. They made me feel wonderful.
Another story as a teacher: I took a student to state competition one year. She was a straight honors, AP kind of student. She remembered to pack everything but her skirt that was to go with all blouses. We had to borrow a car and go to the outlet mall to buy her a skirt. After we returned home, she remembered she had left her iron in the hotel room. Some times the brighter students are the less organized.
