Karen CONNER passed away February 5, 2017. Karen attended Palo Alto schools from elementary days through our Paly days. She is well remembered by many of us.
I met Karen in eight grade on my first day at Jordan. We became friends which continued through Paly and San Jose State. Karen was known as a "brain" and there was always competition for grades between us. As sophomores,we spent hours on the phone agonizing over geometry and in the end her grade was B- and mine C+ However, Karen was much more than smart; she was caring.loyal, generous and humorous. She was exactly three weeks older than I and teased that she was more mature. I guess this year i will catch up to her. Many of us have good friends, but there is usually one best one and Karen was that to me.
