John lived in Old Greenwich, Conn. as I did during the war.   22 miles east of New York City.   What a

place that was then.  John moved there much later.       Ed McLachlan

I still miss John Morrison! We ran on the track and cross country teams at Paly, double-dated at least once, (my fading memory suggests that he dated my wife of 51 years, Bea Clark at least once) had the same kind of Fords while in high school and even spent the summer of '56 working together on a labor crew in a small valley on the south slope behind Half Dome in Yosemite. John, Tom Cathcart and I attended Yale together. We ran on the track and cross country teams there, though I quit the team in Sophomore year. I lived for a short while in a 4-person room at Silliman College with John and two others. Unfortunately, by Junior year, the wealthier students began to pledge to expensive fraternities or even Skull and Bones, while us miserable scholarship students found it diffiicult to date, travel to NYC, etc. so John and I grew apart somewhat. John was very good looking, athletic, stylish, friendly, generous and a loyal friend. Of all the people I have known in my life, he most fit the description of a "gentleman."I still miss him; he died much too early! Tom Cathcart and I still talk about him on occasion. Let's see if I can post a photo here: in August 1957, John, Tom and I are about to take off from the front of my family's home on Walter Hays Drive. John is leaning against his Ford, I am sitting on the curb, and Tom is taking a photo.

I love the picture of the three of you. It makes me happy just to see it. Marilyn

Hi Steve,

Very nice story and pic about you and John and Cathcart. Yes, he did die too young.

By the way, Happy Birthday.

Best,  Peter

Really liked this picture as well.   I remember John as tall and lanky with a smile full of mischef.  I remember him teasing me when I dated Steve Storey.   Funny what sticks in a mind.   So sad his life jouney has ended. His memories will go on for all to enjoy.  Carolyn Chappell Gibbs
