Dawn Hyde

Deceased Classmate: Dawn Hyde
Date Of Birth:
Date Deceased: Feb-2015
Age at Death:
Cause of Death: I don't know
Classmate City: Palo Alto
Classmate State: CA
Classmate Country: USA
Survived By: Larry Hyde (brother) Siobhan Hyde Waldron (daughter) not sure of any others

I saw a garage sale sign on May 24th (2015) on Rengstorff Ave and stopped by. After looking around, I (awkwardly) realized that I recognized Dawn's brother (Larry Hyde) sitting in the kitchen. Larry and a couple of family friends were selling all of Dawn's stuff. Larry and I chatted a bit. No, I didn't ask "how" Dawn died, but I told him that I had heard she passed and I was sorry for his loss. I believe Larry / her brother said that he lives in Boulder Creek and he lives near and/or is in touch with Steve Dokter (who built a nice deck for him -- and even gave him a "Cubberley discount"!). Dawn didn't show up to her job at Stanford and was found in her apartment. She had worked for Stanford University for many years and had one daughter. I don't know any details of how/why she died (a fall?, illness?, I don't know). She died the last week of Feb 2015. She is survived by her brother Larry and her daughter (not sure of others), who can be found on Facebook, with the name: Siobhan Hyde Waldron. I believe Siobhan lives in Southern California now.

My sister Dawn Hyde died in February of this year (2015). She was a true Palo Alton. She went to Ortega Elementary, Wilbur Junior High. and Cubberley for two years. She went to Gunn for her senior year. Her heart was always with Cubberley. Thank you for adding her to the in memory section of this website.  I hope the class of 1975 has a fun reunion. Dawn and I were friends at Cubberley. She was a sensitive and loyal soul, talented cello player and wonderful musician. Few people change your life forever, but I can say that of Dawn when she introduced me to the California Youth Symphony. All these years I wanted to say THANK YOU to her, but never saw her after she transferred to Gunn. Thinking of you Dawn!!!  And THANK YOU!
