Jay (Dr. Boyd for those who had her as a teacher), Ruthie and I are blessed to live on a small ranch at the foot of the Elkhorn Mountains in rural Northeast Oregon. We have 4 seasons here but winter is about 7 months worth and the last two winters have been harsh. Ruthie is a sophomore at Baker High School, though she is homeschooled part of the day. Jay writes for several Catholic publications and she and I are heavily involved in Oregon Right to Life. Ruthie is active in Future Farmers of America and is an accomplished equestrian having qualified for the state championship round in western pleasure riding. We raise and train American Paint horses on our ranch and also breed and train American Border Collies as working livestock dogs.
I stay busy with the ranch but also as Director of Communications for Baker County, Deputy Director of Emergency Management, and Deputy Chief of the County Fire Authority along with being a Reserve Deputy Sheriff.
We will try to make the reunion if possible. Best wishes to the Class of 1999
