Thank you two for posting your messages about Peter because it made me read them and start thinking about that crazy knucklehead...my ears are ringing with his infectiously loud hoarse raspy laugh and giggle...and that makes me smile! God bless you Peter Carter.
I just can't believe he is gone. What a great guy he was and will be missed by all. Why can't we all be born old and grow young. Wouldn't life backwards be great. Heck we start out in diapers and end up in diapers so why can someone just reverse the process and let us grow young instead of old....Ricky you would hear that crazy laugh Peter had if he read this....
I thought Peter Carter was the funniest, coolest guy I'd ever met when he and I had a class together at Jinks. One day in particular I remember, he was back by the windows...which were open...yep no A/C. In hops a grasshopper, he grabbed it, got a few of us around him interested...esp the girls...then opened his mouth and dropped that baby right in his mouth and chewed it up. Teacher came over after the screams started...think he was sent to the...HALLWAY...yes... MR WILLAMS hallway...smiling all the way and all of us laughing about it for life. One of the best days in school for me ever...God Bless you Peter!
I think I first met Peter in Sunday School at 1st. Methodist around 1st grade, then we attended school together about 4th grade on. We went to church camp together, in fact the last time I went to Blue Lake Peter and Jeff Carr were my roommates, you can only imagine what a time we had.
I don't know if I have ever known anyone who enjoyed the "moment" more than Peter. That quick wit and coarse throaty laugh remain with me to this day.
It was a sad day when I heard of his passing, he was a good guy, I think we were all fortunate to know him.
I also remember the day Peter ate that grasshopper! Seems like he wrapped it in taffy and put it in his mouth. I remember the look on his face was ' ya dare me huh? well there'. I will never forget that.
I remember Peter throughout school. God bless ya, Peter, you are missed.
Peter was a great friend growing up. After a long day of swimming and crabbing, I would stay over. Peter liked to roam the Cove at night and get into anything that was fun.Peter passed away March 15,1975. I still think about how much fun we used to have.

I went to school with Peter for all 12 years. He lived not far from me in elementary school and we hung out together a lot.
It was so tragic when he died and he's been missed ever since.

They say the good die young. Peter's passing was shocking to say the least. Still can't believe he is gone. He will be missed by all who knew him.
