Mike was a 12 year classmate of mine and a very good friend!

Sure hope he is hanging with all of our other classmates that have passed.

I first met Mike in the 7th grade at Jinks.  There are three things I remember about him that year:

1)-He could run like the wind.  Coach Post/Taylor always had us running and the 600 yard dash was their favorite.  Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could catch Mike Dewberry running the 600 yard dash.

2)-Mike loved playing the saxophone.  We had band together and I played drums and he played the sax.  He was terrible but never gave up trying, he was pretty good by the time we got to Bay High.

3)-We had Ms. Shaw for 4th period Science, and she was a

smoking hot redhead.  Well one day Mike and Rory Drew decided to play an innocent prank on Ms. Shaw and hide her purse.  Well, Ms. Shaw was totally ticked off and mad as hell.  She called Mr. Williams down to her classroom and he got so mad that he gave them three licks each with that bat turned paddle with holes drilled in it for extra power. Those were the most loud and hard licks I had ever heard or seen and it took everything Mike and Rory had to keep from crying.  Trust me when I say this...if you had Ms. Shaw in the 7th grade in her 4th period class...you will vividly remember the day Mr. Williams gave those licks!

It is so nice and heartwarming to read the memories of old friends, especially regarding friends that are no longer with us.

I choose to believe that each and every one of our classmates that has passed will be with us as we gather to celebrate our 40th reunion.  The stars will be shining brightly that nigh -- who knows, maybe one will shine red!

Just can't believe he is gone along with so many other classmates.  I have had breast cancer and feel so thankful to be able to be a part of the 40 years that have passed us all by.  As Eileen said the stars will be shining that night and none will be forgotten and all including Annelle Sellers will be missed.

I remember Mike in 6th grade in Cove School.  He, Nan Rowell and I were the tallest students in our class.

He was always the nicest and the most polite of guys.  He will be missed.
