Martha F. Rutherford, 77, of Paoli Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at IU Health Paoli Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1944 in Bedford, Indiana to Wilbur J. and Elizabeth F. Hackney. Martha married Terry Rutherford on June 29, 1968 and he survives.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Ann Hackney.

She attended Syria Christian Church, Lost River DAR, and was a member of Newton Stewart, Order of the Eastern Star. Martha was a 1962 Paoli High School graduate. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant with the Indiana State Board of Accounting. She enjoyed travelling, quilting, genealogy, and spending time with family.

Husband: Terry Rutherford Paoli, Indiana

Sons: Kevin Wayne (Bessie) Rutherford Georgetown, Indiana

Travis “Dirck” (Lynn) Rutherford Purcellville, Virginia

Daughter: Dana E. (Jason) Morris French Lick, Indiana

Brother: David Hackney Orleans, Indiana

Grandchildren: Alex Rutherford, Avery Morris, Eli Morris, Ella Rutherford, and 2-great-grandchildren also survive Martha Rutherford.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home located at 226 W. Campbell St, Paoli, IN 47454. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 4 PM to 7;00 PM and from 9:00 AM until time of service on Thursday. Interment will follow in the Syria Christian Church Cemetery. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, guests are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness, such as fevers or chills, cough, shortness of breath, muscle, or body aches, etc., we ask that you do not attend. Thank you for your cooperation.
