Eric Brandsness
Eric J. Brandsness, 73, of Bloomingdale, formerly of Pompton Lakes, passed away on May 12, 2024.
The son of the late Harvey and Ann Brandsness, Eric grew up in Paramus. He graduated from Paramus High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Vince. The couple married in 1973 and settled in Pompton Lakes to raise their family.
Eric began his career at Cedar Park Beth-El Cemetery mowing the lawn when he was 16 years old. He worked his way up to Head Foreman of the Auto Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Garage and remained with the cemetery for over 50 years. He loved auto mechanics and fixing cars, landscaping, family vacations and going on cruises, but especially loved his family. A dedicated husband, father, and pop pop...he was the true definition of a family man.
Eric is lovingly survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his son, Timothy Brandsness; daughter, Kristin Kienle and her husband Thomas; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Gavin, and Alanna Kienle; his brother, Mark Brandsness and his wife Stephanie; his sister, Peggy Pordon and her husband Brad; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pearl Brandsness, Dennis Vince, Judy Vince, JoAnn Post, and Scott Post; and his nieces and nephews, Heather, Brian, Jessica, Ryan, Greg, Jennifer, Andrew, Kevin, Sarah, Joseph, and Angela, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, James and Kirk Brandsness.
Entombment at Garden of Memories, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
