Rayment Bruce Sparks

January 31, 1945 - May 28, 2025

Raymond Bruce Sparks, 80, of Springfield, VA, passed away on May 28, 2025 at home following a valiant battle with cancer.

Ray was born in Paramus, NJ to Joseph M. and Betty B. Sparks on January 31, 1945. He graduated from Paramus High School and attended Syracuse University. He married Karen Hill of Chapel Hill NC on March 25, 1972 in Fairfax, VA. 

He retired as a customer service representative for the United States Postal Service after 30 years. Following his retirement from the USPS, he worked for Fairfax County Public Schools, for 8 years, as a school bus driver. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Navy. He was involved in girls' youth soccer and was a team coordinator and membership chairman for his neighborhood swim club.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents.

Ray is survived by his wife, Karen, daughter Jennifer of West Columbia, SC, sister, Sharon Visconti/Rivard (Marty) of Mantolobing, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews.
