Robert and I have been friends since 2nd grade.  I use to spend as much time at his house as I did at my own, it seemed.  I use to ride my bike to his house from my house on 15th Street.  Robert didn't even own a bike so it was left up to me to ride over there.  But even after we had cars, I still drove over to his house.  I so enjoyed walking on his farm, playing in the creek, and exploring the area. We use to play basketball in his hay barn's loft.  We even double-dated on his very first date.

Through the years we have kept in close contact. I was honored to have him as a friend and I will miss him a great deal.  With the loss of my friend Joe B and Robet all within just a few weeks, it has brought home to me the value of friendships. After Ruth notified me of Robet's death, I wanted to call Joe B and let him know....what a hole has been left in my life.
