Pamela Arnold McCarty, age 78, wife of Donald “Donnie” McCarty of Paris, departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Centerpoint Health, Paris, surrounded by her loving family. Pam was born in Paris on October 20, 1947, the daughter of the late William Arnold “Billy” and June Bedford Smith Williams, was a 1965 graduate of Paris High School, and attended Eastern Kentucky University. When she wasn’t tending to her flowers or spending time with her family that were so very dear to her heart, you would find her playing Blackjack as long as the casino stayed open. 

Donald and Pamela “My Girl”, the name in which he referred to her, was together for 60 years, having been married 57 of those. To this union two daughters were born, Shea McCarty and Heather (Jason) Dale; her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Nana”, Courtney June Puckett and fiancé’ Isaiah Puckett, Nathan Puckett, Caden Dale, Ethan Dale and Owen Dale. Pamela was blessed with two very dear ladies who were like her sisters, her first cousin, Helen Carol Cain, dear friend Carol Fowler; a brother-in-law, Bobby McCarty, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her beloved dog Lexie will be among those that will greatly feel her absence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4th at Bedford Acres Christian Church where she attended with Bro. Dean Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Paris Cemetery with casket bearers being Robbie McCarty, Ethan Dale, Nathan Puckett, Isaiah Puckett, Jeffrey Douglas and Kenny McCarty. Honorary bearers will be Stacie McCarty, Sherry Cheek, Craig Olive, Karen Donovan and Kenneth Fowler.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bedford Acres Christian Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1317 US Highway 62E, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031
