Mike Hopkins, 66, of Avon and formerly of Parma died suddenly on Friday, September 6, 2019. He was born on February 15, 1953, in Cleveland, to Michael and Rosemary Hopkins. He is a graduate of Padua Franciscan High School and Defiance College.
Mike recently retired from FedEx. He loved being outdoors, especially around water. He enjoyed participating in and watching sports, he coached basketball and loved all the Cleveland teams. His favorite sport to play was golf. Mike was the Past-President of Incarnate Word Academy Athletic Association and Guild. He was the current president of the Devonshire Estates Home Owners Association. He enjoyed being active in the community and most especially spending time with his family.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Elizabeth (nee Bell); and his three children, Matt, Mike (Sarah), and Marcy Miller (Brian); he was the proud Papa of Grace and Benjamin; his siblings, Bill (Barb), Rosie Csach (Dan), Mary Lou Lanning (Tom), John (Angela), and Bob (Terri). He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Kathy Hopkins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 12, 10:00 AM, at Holy Spirit Church in Avon Lake, 410 Lear Rd, Avon Lake, OH 44012. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon, from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday.
