Susan Carol Monson

Susan Carol Monson

From Musgrove Mortuaries and Cemeteries.....

Susan Carol Clem of Junction City, Oregon, ended her six-month struggle with brain cancer on May 24, 2013.She was surrounded by her loved ones, including her husband Floyd Clem, her daughter April Haapala, and her granddaughters Summer Manier and Dianna Oh. Her friend Mendy combed her hair one last time as the heavenly hosts received her.

Born in Pasadena, California, on January 25, 1949, Susan bridged the traditional and the pioneering. As a high school teacher, she endured death threats serving special needs inner city students before returning to law school. As an attorney she served families and the elderly, often volunteering her time or working at a reduced rate.

Susan moved to Oregon in 2006, and forged many special relationships in the community. She worked with the homeless through street ministry. She faithfully gave of herself to her friends through Bridge Club, Shadow Hills Women’s Club, Bible Study, and every group and event that came to her with a need.

Susan loved flowers, animals (esp. cats), friends, and family. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and blessed so many through her optimistic view on life. Her departing advice to all was, “Have more fun!”

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Susan requested that a donation be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.musgroves.com.

I enjoyed Susan's company.  She was smart, and full of endless energy.  She could talk about anything.  I wish we had stayed in touch.

Sue Monson, Eddie Anderson, George Clark and I attended our PHS High School Prom together.  It was at the old Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, and we were all dressed up to the nines!!  I will always remember how kind and sweet Sue was, and what a good time we had that evening making unforgettable memories.    I am so sorry to hear of her passing.  May she rest in peace.
