John W. Knight Jr.

Major John W. Knight Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday October 24, 2020 after a courageous battle with Parkinson disease and diabetes.

Born in Pasco, WA, he lived most of his life in Bordentown.

John enlisted in The United States Army, serving as an Intelligence Staff Officer during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1987 after serving over 20 years in active and reserve service. He received numerous medals and awards including a Purple Heart, Gallantry Cross, and Bronze Star.

He was hired as a Civil contractor for the Department of Defense at Fort Monmouth, retiring in 2009.

John was a highly intelligent and kind man who had a passion for history, trains, traveling and exploring. He was a member of the Northern Burlington Model Railroad Club, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Vietnam Veterans, and the Bordentown Township Seniors. But his greatest joy in life was spending time traveling to Las Vegas every year with his beloved wife Dot.

Son of the late Laura and John W Knight Sr., he is predeceased by his brothers Robert and Paul Knight and his sister, Lanie Lavvorn. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Dorothea (Dot) Knight, his sister, Laurel Daniel, his sister-in-law, Laura Knight, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
